Grant Dorn

Grant Dorn is now the Pitching Coach for the Washington Wild Things, located in Washington, PA.  Grant is a 1996 graduate of Derry, and was a three time all-conference pitcher for the Trojans.  He also enjoyed a seven-year professional baseball career.  Dorn was a 10th-round pick of the Montreal Expos in the 1999 MLB draft out of North Carolina State University, and played for Vermont of the Class A New York-Penn League that year before moving on to Cape Fear in 2000.

As a member of the Houston Astros system in 2001, Dorn played for Class A Clinton and Lexington. In 2002, Dorn pitched for Class A Michigan under current Wild Things manager John Massarelli.

Grant was also a standout quarterback at Derry, as he led the Trojans to the WPIAL semifinals back in 1995 while playing  for his father Greg Dorn, who is currently still teaching at Derry.
